Fees

Most of our learners are eligible to study for free but it depends on your selected course and your current circumstances.

If you are aged 19+ and meet the relevant eligibility criteria then you can access our accredited courses for free, this includes if: 

 

  • You are receiving qualifying benefits (e.g. Universal Credit, Job Seekers Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance) when your course commences (take home pay is less than £345 a month single claimant or £552 a month joint claimant) and studying below Level 3
  • You are aged 19-23 and wish to study for your first full Level 2 or 3 qualification (NVQ, Diploma or equivalent)
  • You wish to study for an eligible Level 3 qualification through the Free Courses for Jobs and you do not already hold a Full Level 3 qualification
  • You wish to study for an eligible Level 3 qualification through Free Courses for Jobs and are unemployed or earn below £33,210 and reside in Tees Valley.
  • You wish to study Functional Skills English and/or Functional Skills Maths up to Level 2 and do not already hold a grade 4/C or higher.
  • You wish to study Essential Digital Skills or Functional Digital Skills and your digital skills is assessed at below Level 1.
  • You wish to study English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), up to Level 2 and reside in Tees Valley.
  • You are employed, studying a course below Level 3 and earn less than £33,210 when your course starts and reside in Tees Valley.

 

Please note - you must be in receipt of the qualifying benefit or earning a low wage when your course starts. The above information changes regularly and for full guidelines see our Fees Policy.

Financial Support

Learners aged 19 and over may be eligible for help with the cost of childcare, travel, kit, uniform, equipment and other expenses associated with the cost of coming to learn with Hartlepool Jobs & Skills. 

We also offer additional learning support to learners with disabilities and/or learning difficulties. Support depends on your individual circumstances, so please contact the Jobs & Skills @ the Hub Team to check your eligibility by emailing [email protected] or by calling 01429 868616.
